How to Stamp Fired PMC with Jett Sett

You can use metal stamps to create designs and lettering on fired pmc pieces. BUT if you find yourself with a fired piece that you don’t want to mess up the front design of the piece, but still want to stamp something on the back of the piece, you will find this tool very helpful! Check it out here…

I use Jett Sett almost every week in one way or another! It’s an awesome tool to create a custom hold for your fired Precious Metal Clay pieces that just can’t be worked with on a steel block for fear of messing up your design, or it just won’t hold still because of it’s odd shaping. Simply warm the plastic vice with boiling water, mold in your fired piece and let cool.

Once Jett Sett is cooled, it will be hard as a rock, and then you can stamp away! When you’re all done, simply warm the piece back up in your cup of boiling water and Jett Sett will release your piece. Lastly wipe off your piece and continue patina-ing and polishing to your desired taste. And save your used Jett Sett for next time! Yes, that’s right! Jett Sett is re-useable… and that just makes it that much cooler ;)

Give it a try and see what you think. Have you used JettSett or another plastic vice material before? What works for you? What other tips do you have for working with similar material? Share with us by leaving a comment below and don’t forget to spread the love with all your jewelry making friends!
Keep creating!
