I hope I will get to see the video. I’m having trouble with wifi and I can get places but no video will play and I can’t see things on Facebook. Very frustrating. Hopefully I will have something better soon. Can’t wait to see how this is done. I’m not comfortable with combustible projects. Will have to really think on this.
Well it is almost Christmas 2015 hope you have a wonderful holiday.

  • Stealing photos of your work and using them to sell their product might be just the tip of the iceberg. Some scammers use it to sell an item that they do not plan to deliver at all! During the height of the Hermes Birkin Bag craze you would see the same (stolen) photos on site after site with prices ranging from ridiculously low to the cost of a new car! In a lot of cases a cheap knock-off (looking nothing like the photo), or worse — nothing at all was shipped.

Once the money was sent the photo thief considered the deal complete. I’m not so sure

It’s also partly a cultural issue… some countries do not recognize copyright laws and everything is free to use. That’s why some photo theifs seem genuinely puzzled when confronted. Other countries, like France, treat it almost like murder. You can get a prison sentence.

If this was on facebook, you can report the copyright infringement to them and they will remove the photo and contact the offender. Glad you got it taken care of. I’ve had my actual work copied many years ago and found it by accident in a shop in another city. I know how it feels inside. We work so hard to create something and then someone comes along and decides they like it enough to copy it or they don’t want to take the time to design/create on their own. My question is how was this person on facebook going to reproduce those items she was panning off as her own? Was that her plan?

Sorry to hear that someone stole your images. I can sort of relate to that as I had all my silver jewellery stolen from a shop I had it displayed in back in July. It is horrible to think that all that work has probably been recycled for cash. No amount of compensation can replace what was taken.

  • Hi Laura Lovely to get a notification from you. I first saw you on You Tube two or three years ago and you were a great inspiration for me to get going with silversmithing. I am now doing a class at Leeds College of Art and learning loads of new stuff. And doing other creative things and I started my own blog this year! Sorry to hear that you had problems with your images being used by someone else – where I come from we call that brass-faced cheek. Glad you managed to sort it and that you’ve networked with other artists in the same position. xxx Kathryn
